Delayed packages
SHIPPING TIMES:
Europe: Shipping is usually 1 week, however, sometimes packages are delayed 1-2 weeks.
Rest of the world: Shipping is usually 1-2 weeks, and sometimes packages are delayed 2-3 weeks.
For Italy: We are experiencing that Poste Italiane can be very unreliable at the moment, and we are looking into changing courier to get more reliable shipping.
DELAYS:
Because our packages are small and fit in mailboxes, we send them by post, which means they are handled by the national post service in the destination country. This means that delays will occur from time to time, because the national post services in different countries operate at very different speeds.
TRACKING:
We do not offer tracking on most shipments because we ship with regular mail straight to your mailbox.
We provide tracking for orders of 3 or more products with UPS to a few selected countries. You will in this case be contacted by UPS, so look out for an email from them.
International tracking is very expensive (sometimes 30 Euros extra), which would make us go out of business if we offered tracking on all shipments.
Some EU countries' national postal service have apps that allow for tracking, but we don't get this information from the courier. - Sweden and Denmark, for example, use the "PostNord" app, and sometimes shipping updates are sent to this app. Some other countries also have a similar system.
HAS YOUR ORDER NOT ARRIVED AFTER 30 DAYS?
We can then claim it as lost in transit at the respective national post service who has lost it, and we can refund you, or send you a new package for free!
However: There are four other reasons why your package might be delayed or lost:
1. Delivery man can’t find your mailbox.
If the mailbox is hard to find, or is not clearly labeled, the delivery man might deliver it to a local post office for you to pick up. If this happens you will usually be notified, but in our experience, they tend to forget to notify… This causes the package to be sent back to us. This is the number 1 reason for our packages not arriving in time.
2. Customs Check 🌍🛃
If you're ordering from outside the EU, your package might need to go through customs. They like to make sure everything's on the up-and-up, which can take a bit of time. Also, sometimes, they will try to contact you to make you pay customs duty. Often, they send an email which goes to your spam folder (so check that), or they’ll send a letter. Our legal company name is “Detective for a Day AS”, so be on the lookout for that name.
3. Oops, Wrong Address! 🏡🔍
We all make mistakes, but sometimes an incorrect or incomplete address can lead to a wild goose chase for your package. You can check which address you provided if you click “view order” on the shipping confirmation email you have received.
4. Package has been delivered to a local pick-up point.
Many national couriers use a mobile app or send an email to notify our customers that they need to come to a local pick-up to retrieve the package. Unfortunately, these emails very often go to the spam folder, and not everyone has the mobile app, so try downloading the app (for example, PostNord app in Scandinavia, Royal Mail app in the UK, etc...), and check your spam folder!
